The InstaOutreach Chrome extension.
The InstaOutreach Chrome extension runs cold Instagram outreach in your own Chrome, in the Instagram session you are already logged into, on your own IP. No proxies, and it never sees your Instagram password. Free to install; the service is $29 a month per account after a 14-day trial.

What changed in each version: changelog.
What it does
- Visits profiles, follows, likes, watches stories and sends DMs for your campaigns, with human-paced clicks, typing and scrolling in the real Instagram page.
- Sends AI-personalized first messages and follow-ups, and stops a sequence when a lead replies or books a call.
- Keeps to the daily limits and working hours you set in the dashboard: 40 DMs a day by default, never more than 75.
- Stops the moment you touch the Instagram tab, and waits for you.
- Reports every action to your InstaOutreach dashboard, where replies land in one inbox.
Permissions it asks for, and why
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
instagram.com (site access) | To read the Instagram page and click, type and scroll for your campaign actions. |
instaoutreach.com (site access) | To ask your dashboard what to do next and report the result. |
storage | To remember that this browser is connected to your workspace. |
sidePanel | To show the run log, pause button and today's plan beside Instagram. |
alarms | To wake the extension on schedule so results reach the dashboard even when idle. |
scripting | To reconnect to an Instagram tab that was open before the extension updated, instead of asking you to reload it. |
webRequest (read-only) | To tell when Instagram itself is erroring, so a failed action is reported honestly. It never blocks or changes requests. |
What it never touches
- Any site other than instagram.com and instaoutreach.com.
- Your browsing history, bookmarks or saved passwords.
- Your Instagram password: it uses the session you are already logged into.
- Proxies or another IP address: actions go out over your own connection.
Install in about a minute
- Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome (Chrome 114 or newer, on a desktop computer).
- A connect tab opens by itself. Sign in with your InstaOutreach email, or start the free trial.
- Type or pick the Instagram username that is logged in in this browser.
- Choose a pace (Balanced by default, or Conservative), open Instagram and press Start.
- For more accounts, give each one its own Chrome profile with the extension connected.
Limits worth knowing
- Automating Instagram outside the official API can conflict with Instagram's Terms of Use. Your own browser, your own IP and human pace lower the risk of restrictions; nothing removes it.
- It only works while your browser or the Mac app is open. Close it and the account pauses.
- Instagram only. No WhatsApp, Messenger or TikTok.
- No comment-to-DM auto-replies on your own posts. That is an inbound job for official-API tools.
- Each browser profile drives one Instagram account at a time; several accounts need several Chrome profiles or the Mac app.
- It cannot pull the list of accounts someone follows as a lead source.
Questions people ask
Is the InstaOutreach Chrome extension free?
Installing it is free. Running campaigns needs an InstaOutreach plan: $29 a month for the first Instagram account and $14.50 for each extra, after a 14-day free trial.
Does the extension need my Instagram password?
No. It works in the Instagram session already logged into that browser and never logs in itself. You sign in to the extension once with your InstaOutreach account.
Do I need a proxy?
No. The extension acts from your own browser on your own internet connection, so your account never shares an IP with another customer.
Does it keep running when I close Chrome?
No. It runs only while that browser is open. Close it and the account pauses; campaigns, leads and progress are kept and it picks up when you reopen Chrome.
Can it get my account banned?
Automating Instagram always carries some risk of restrictions, because only the official API is sanctioned. Running in your own browser and IP, at human pace, within daily limits and working hours, lowers that risk. It does not remove it.
Is there a Mac app instead?
Yes. The Mac app runs the same campaigns in its own window on macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and does not store your Instagram password.
