- Your leads come in through comments, story replies or DMs, and you want instant automated answers.
- You want everything on Meta's official API, with no Terms of Use risk from automation.
- You also need WhatsApp, Messenger or TikTok in the same tool.
- Flows must run 24/7 with no computer open.
Pick InstaOutreach if
- You need to start conversations with prospects who have never heard of you.
- You run outreach for several client accounts and want a flat price per account.
- You would rather not hand an Instagram login to a cloud server or rent proxies.
Many teams run both: ManyChat answers people who comment on a reel, InstaOutreach opens cold threads with prospects who never would have. They do not overlap.
The real limits on both sides
ManyChat
- Cannot message anyone who has not interacted first (comment, DM, story reply, or an ad that opens a chat).
- Automations stop after the 24-hour window; only manual Inbox messages up to day 7.
- Billed by Active Contacts, so one viral post can push you into a bigger plan or overage fees.
- The Free plan covers 25 Active Contacts a month and up to 4 active automations.
InstaOutreach
- Automating Instagram outside the official API can conflict with Instagram's Terms of Use. Your own browser, your own IP and human pace lower the risk of restrictions; nothing removes it.
- It only works while your browser or the Mac app is open. Close it and the account pauses.
- Instagram only. No WhatsApp, Messenger or TikTok.
- No comment-to-DM auto-replies on your own posts. That is an inbound job for official-API tools.
- Each browser profile drives one Instagram account at a time; several accounts need several Chrome profiles or the Mac app.
- It cannot pull the list of accounts someone follows as a lead source.
How to add cold outreach next to ManyChat
- Keep your ManyChat flows as they are. Nothing in InstaOutreach touches them.
- Start the free trial and install the Chrome extension (or the Mac app) in the browser where that Instagram account is logged in.
- Pick a lead source: a competitor's followers, a hashtag, the likers or commenters of a post, or a CSV.
- If the account is new, run the optional warm-up first; 7 or 14 days is what we recommend.

Can ManyChat send cold DMs on Instagram?
No. ManyChat runs on Meta's official Instagram API, which only allows a business to message someone after that person comments, sends a DM, replies to a story or starts a chat from an ad. ManyChat says a qualifying user interaction must happen first.
Is InstaOutreach a ManyChat replacement?
Only if your job is cold outreach. InstaOutreach starts conversations with people who never contacted you. It does not auto-reply to comments, and it is Instagram only. For inbound comment-to-DM flows, ManyChat or another official-API tool is the right pick.
Can I use ManyChat and InstaOutreach on the same Instagram account?
Yes. ManyChat works through the official API and InstaOutreach works in your browser, so they do not conflict. Make sure ManyChat's default reply does not answer prospects your cold campaign is already talking to.
Which is cheaper, ManyChat or InstaOutreach?
They bill differently. ManyChat Pro is $39 a month for up to 2,500 Active Contacts on one account. InstaOutreach is $29 a month for the first Instagram account and $14.50 for each extra, with no contact count.
Is cold DM automation allowed by Instagram?
Instagram's Terms of Use forbid accessing or collecting information in an automated way without permission, and only the official API is sanctioned. Cold DM tools work outside it, so there is always some risk of restrictions. Running from your own browser at human pace lowers that risk; it does not remove it.
